Saturday and Sunday The 3rd annual Spring Art Show features the latest works by artisans of the Stanwood Camano Arts Guild and other invited artists. There are individual artist booths in addition to a judged fine arts show. Artisans will be available to answer your questions and several artisans will conduct demonstrations in the booth area during the two day event. Two-Dimensional:
People's Choice Award: Stella Canfield - Stella lives on Whidbey Island, and is an experienced judge who paints in watercolor and oils. Stella's paintings are included in many private and corporate collections in the USA, Europe and Asia. Stella grew up in Varna, Bulgaria, who moved to the United States in 1985. She owns Art Gallery Stella on Whidbey Island, and when she is not painting, she is teaching watercolor in her studio, at the Coupeville Art Center, in the Northwest or nationally. Shannon Kirby - Shannon is a Northwest native who has been sculpting since childhood. Recent exhibitions include: Artwood Gallery in Bellingham, WA; Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass show in Dallas, TX, Camano Island Studio Tour, and the "Honey, I Shrunk the Art" show at History of the World Gallery on Camano Island. Gina Ostman Burrill - Gina grew up in Southern Oregon, was Educated at Everett Community College and Western Washington University's College of Fine and Performing Arts. Gina is passionate about all techniques of photography, but is most charmed by the early forms of photographic expression of the mid to late 1800's. She makes her own pinhole cameras. She says, "the slow exposures that pinhole photography requires allow me to record time, breathing, memory, and movement." Lately she has been experimenting with making frames that have the touch of early photographic processes and include parts of antique camera equipment. A lot her inspiration comes from studying the life of Julia Margaret Cameron. She lives on Camano Island with her husband Jack and her three children. She is presently showing her work at a twelve woman photographer show, Perceptions, at Sisters' Restaurant in Everett WA (April 8-June 4).
