The Stanwood Camano Arts Guild is pleased to announce it’s first ever
spring invitational art show. Admittance to the show is free. Visitors
will be asked to cast a vote for the peoples choice award.
Both 2D and 3D art by artisans of the Stanwood Camano Arts Guild and by
the Stanwood Camano Roaming Artists will be on display and available for
purchase. There will be individual artist booths in addition to a separate
judged fine arts show that will feature the best works of 34 local
artists. Artisans will be available to answer your questions and several
artisans will conduct periodic demonstrations in the booth area during the
two day event.
Displays will include jewelry, glass, ceramics, fiber, oriental sumi,
woodturning, clay sculpture, photography and paintings in all media.
Plan on visiting one of the numerous cafés and restaurants in the
Stanwood area. For your convenience a free basic map showing restaurant
locations will be available on the premises.

Judges for the Fine Arts Show
Rudy Coffing
Paintings (watercolor, oil, acrylic & pastels)
Rudy has been active in Fine Art and Creative Design for over
50 years. His instruction was accredited through San Francisco State
College and American River Junior College in Sacramento, California. He is
currently instructing ongoing classes in acrylic painting in several
locations of the Puget Sound area. Many private collectors throughout the
country commission his murals, paintings and illustrations.
Ilene Ellickson
Photography
Ilene has expressed herself through the medium of photography
for over 30 years. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology
in New York City and moved to Washington State in the spring of year 2000.
Ilene has been the featured artist at ART & SOUL in Everett during the
entire month of March. Her work covers a large range of themes and has
been displayed in numerous galleries and private collections throughout
the United States. All of her images are limited editions.
Ned Block
3-D (sculpture, glass, jewelry & woodturnings)
Ned is a Camano Island resident and a sculptor who works
primarily in steel and resins. In 1990, after a 20 year career as a
graphics designer and art director he returned to his sculpture full time.
He moved to Camano Island in 1999. His abstractions of the graceful,
droll, often “quirky nature” of nature, rarely miss an opportunity to opt
for form over reality. Even so, Ned believes it’s an artist’s
responsibility to constantly challenge the work’s ability to explain
itself. His sometimes whimsical pieces have been shown throughout the
Northwest and in San Francisco, Carmel and Palm Desert, California.
