Marysville artist Shirley Hornbeck,
whose paintings are shown above, is one of the many talented artists who
will be participating in "Art by the Bay 2003" on Camano Island, Saturday
and Sunday July 19-20. Sponsored by the Stanwood-Camano Arts Guild, the
annual event showcases artists and artisans from throughout the Northwest
and attracts over 2000 visitors.A self-taught
watercolor and pastel artist, Shirley was born and raised in the Pacific
Northwest, and has shown her work at numerous local events and venues,
including the Marysville Sights and Bites Festival, Art by the Bay, the
Arts Council of Snohomish County gallery, the Snohomish County
Administration building, and the Evergreen State Fair.
Art by the Bay features approximately 100 artists presenting painting,
clay, stone and metal sculpture, pottery, photography, jewelry, glass,
fabric art, garden art, and more. Browse more than 70 booths in a combined
indoor and outdoor setting., and enjoy good food, live music, and a
children's play area.
From I-5, take exit 212 West on State Route 532 through Stanwood to
Camano Island. Bear left at the Camano Gateway "Y," and follow the signs
(right on Cross Island Road, and right on Arrowhead Rd.) Hours are
Saturday 10am to 7pm, and Sunday 11am to 5pm. Free admission and free
parking.
