Stanwood artist Jeanine Borree,
whose painting is shown above, is one of the many talented artists who
will be participating in "Art by the Bay 2003" on Camano Island, Saturday
and Sunday July 19-20. Sponsored by the Stanwood-Camano Arts Guild, the
annual event showcases artists and artisans from throughout the Northwest
and attracts over 2000 visitors.
Jeanine Borree reclaims boxes, windows, and other wooden objects to
explore relationships and events. She completes a painting on the exterior
and another on the interior. As a child, she was intrigued by boxes with
secret drawers. Now, her interior paintings are the "hidden drawers" with
a secret that completes or contrasts with the concept shown on the
exterior.
Art by the Bay features approximately 100 artists presenting painting,
clay, stone and metal sculpture, pottery, photography, jewelry, glass,
fabric art, garden art, and more. Browse more than 70 booths in a combined
indoor and outdoor setting., and enjoy good food, live music, and a
children's play area.
